020228: Matthew back in rehab
- Friends co-star Matthew Perry has returned to rehab for an undisclosed illness, his publicist confirmed Monday. The dark-haired actor, who portrays wisecracking 30-something Chandler Bing on the popular NBC series, has entered a facility at his doctors' urging. "Matthew has every intention of completing his treatment so that he can continue his dream of entertaining people and making them laugh," publicist Lisa Kasteler said in a statement. - Liz Hurley is being lined up to star in Friends - after wowing the show's Matthew Perry on the set of their new film. Smitten Perry, 31 - alias Chandler in the hit TV comedy - is begging producers to write the British beauty into upcoming episodes. And last night a pal of Liz, 35, confided: "She is thrilled at the idea." The actress - currently filming romantic comedy Servicing Sarah with Perry - joins an A-list of Hollywood names to guest star in the Channel 4 and Sky One series. The chum said: "When Elizabeth and Matthew started working together she explained she was a massive Friends fan. "He immediately invited her to come on the show. "Matthew has already talked to producers about getting her written into one or two episodes. "Liz has shown in films like Bedazzled and Austin Powers that she has good comic timing." Servicing Sarah stars Liz as the sex-mad wife of a millionaire. Perry plays a legal clerk she hires to serve divorce papers on her husband. The pair end up falling for each other. Shooting on the film began two weeks ago in New York. In real life Liz - ex-girlfriend of Hugh Grant - is currently dating film producer Steve Bing. It is not the first time Perry has swung it for chums to appear in Friends. British fans recently saw Bruce Willis pop up on the show. Perry met the Die Hard hero on the set of blockbuster movie The Whole Nine Yards. Another guest star was Pretty Woman temptress Julia Roberts - invited on by Perry after she revealed she fancied the heart-throb. Celebrities lined up to appear in the next series include Robert Redford and Susan Sarandon. (The Sun)
